There are four types of enterprise clouds. The first is the public cloud which is accessible over the Internet and managed by an external service provider. This is particularly interesting, mainly for SMEs. It does not require any hardware investment. Then, we have the private cloud intended for a single organization. It allows for increased personalization and full control. It can be either internal or delegated to a service provider.
